Our Gelato

We make our gelato under the brand Gellicious Gelato (which also wholesales to cafes and restaurants throughout the country).

We make more than 45 flavours, so each of our stores has an ever-changing variety to tempt your taste buds.

We use authentic recipes, that we have developed over the years using only quality ingredients.

Our fruit gelato (with the exception of banana) is all sorbetto – water-based, not milk-based. They are dairy free, vegan, gluten free and contain up to 38% real fruit – hence are 99% fat free. 

Our milk based gelato is just that – milk based, in contrast to ice cream which is cream based. This means that Kaffee Eis gelato is lower in fat than traditional ice cream and has a fuller more satisfying flavour.

 

 

 

 

 

Awards

We've entered into the NZ Ice Cream Association Manufacturers awards each year since 2011 and are really proud of our achievements.

To date 35 of our flavours have won awards (most multiple times).

This year we won 12 medals (see home page for details). Our Lemon sorbet also won ‘Category Champion (Best in Citrus)’.

In 2022 Black Doris Plum sorbet won a Gold Medal as well as ‘Category Champion (Sorbet)’. This follows on from winning Category Champion (Best in Fruit) in 2020.

In 2019 our Blackcurrant won ‘Best in Category’ (Sorbet) and in 2018 Indian Summer won 'Best in Category' (Gelato) and 'Best New to Market'.
